Gran's Potato Soup*
Gran's Potato Soup*
Bacon
onions
boiling water
evaporated milk
salt and pepper to taste
Slice up bacon into little slices. Half inch or less. Throw it into the big pot and frizzle fry them up a little bit. Add chop onion to that. Whole onion for a family of 7 and half a pound of bacon. Golden potato cubed up in half inch cubes or a little more. Throw them in. Pour boiling water over (from tea kettle). One potato per person (7). Add the water just to cover. Salt and pepper. Use evaporated milk (at least 2 cans for a family of 7). A little more water probably. To thicken, mix flour and cold water in a bowl and stir in as needed. Serve sharp cheddar cheese and more fried bacon for the top.
